Photo Sales

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

In addition to my popular slide scanning services, I get lots of calls about the photos I’ve published on the Web. Yesterday I got a call from a woman in England looking to buy 2 prints of images she found on my Anna Maria Island page. Look for 3 of my photographs in the November 07 issue of Coastal Living Magazine, in the article about Nahant, Massachusetts. Last spring, New Hampshire magazine bought rights to several of my images for their article on the New Hampshire seacoast.

Slide Conversion Orders

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

September 2007 was my busiest month EVER for slide scanning work.  In addition to receiving many more orders than usual, I’m getting many LARGE orders.  A sample of recent order sizes are 900 slides, 1100, and 2000 slides.

One customer tells me he has 100 “trays” for me to process.  He’s been sending the trays in batches.  His project involves converting his collection of 35MM slide to PowerPoint. I’m also seeing an increase in local orders from customers who are not comfortable shipping their slide collections around the country, let alone around the word.

Speaking of around the world, I saw a full page ad in the October issue of Popular Photography magazine.  The ad was for a photo/slide/negative scanning service provider.  I’ve been very fortunate in that I’ve never really needed to spend money on advertising.  A well established Web page and hundreds of happy customers keep the work rolling in.
