PhotoShop CS3 Upgrade
Saturday, September 29th, 2007I just installed Adobe Photoshop CS3 Upgrade. I had been using Photoshop CS2 for editing and enhancing my own digital photographs as well as slide scans. I’m looking forward to using the new features in Bridge and PS CS3.
It has been suggested to me that Adobe Lightroom would be more efficient to edit and enhance slide scans. Although I own LightRoom and use it for my own digital camera images, I’m skeptical that it would save me time over the way I enhance slide scan in PS. I’ll soon be adding info about that subject that on my slide scanning tips page.
Lightroom is a great product, It just might now be the fastest way to enhance large lots of tiff files. I do like the “collection” feature of Lightroom and it’s capability to create flash slide shows for the Web.

A recent flurry of large slide scan orders prompted me to set up a 3rd slide scanning workstation. It consists of a low-end Dell desktop, Nikon CoolScan 5000 scanner with the SF-210 auto-feeder. The Dell was less than $600. I transfer most files via my network, to a faster RAID 0 drive computer for processing/editing and disk burning.
